Our Debut!

On Sunday the 11th December 2011, I shall be bringing my Italian heritage to Brick Lane Market, London, in the form of Piadine.

A Piadina is an Italian flat bread from the Romagna region filled with different meats, cheeses and vegetables. My aim is to entice the hungry masses at Brick Lane Market with my made-to-order Piadine using freshly sourced ingredients directly from Italia!

I shall be selling two varieties of Piadina – La Piadina Romagnola and La Crescia Sfogliata.

I’m not keen on saying this but if I had to describe them I would say the Piadina Romagnola is like an ‘Italian Tortilla’ and the Crescia Sfogliata is similar to an ‘Italian Paratha’. The main difference being that the latter is more layered in texture. But it’s not really like either of these and the only way to appreciate this is to come and taste them for yourself!

An example of what to expect from the menu:

Choose your Piadina:

Piadina Romagnola
Crescia Sfogliata

Choose your filling:

*all of them contain a very special homemade sundried tomato paste known as capuliato*

Salami, stracchino cheese, rocket

Parma ham, mozzarella, tomato

Tomato, mozzarella, basil

Stracchino cheese, rocket

  1. Brilliant idea! Our family used to have piadine lunches at least once a week when we lived in Italy and I always wondered why I'd never heard of them in the UK. Good luck, I'm sure you will win over the Brits with these delicious snacks.
